Introduction
The subject of minor irrigation has been assigned to the Provincial Councils in accordance with the 13th Amendment to the Constitution and the Provincial Councils Act No. 42 of 1987. Under that, the Uva Province Irrigation Department has been established to establish an advanced irrigation system in the Uva Province with the aim of promoting agriculture, which is the main source of livelihood in the Uva Province.

Under the development of irrigation facilities in Uva Province
